Yes!! Research Paper Finished!

Finally, my research paper finished! Yeah!! Hehe ^^ Yes, this is my first research paper in English and it is so interesting for me. I need to change my though from my native language to English language; for the first time it’s sometimes difficult but after I come to the class and talk with my friend in English, it gradually more easy for thinking in English. I think I got some good improvement during the class.

The most difficulty I got when finishing my paper, especially for the first draft, is the grammar in writing. Fortunately, I have a very patient teacher, Ms. Azimi, who corrects all that mistaken grammar and give right direction in writing all the time I handout my draft. Writing research paper in English is so challenging because you need to search the source so you need to find out the book related to the topic and sometimes you need asking someone who expert in the topic. This case made me have more interaction with people; unrealized, it improved my English too. Beside that, I chose topic that related to my major so it made me learn more about mechanical field, especially about spring.

I think all my difficulties and errors writing is nothing compare to the Ms. Azimi’s duty. She also has to examine all my friend’s paper and it’s a lot, so Thanks to my lovely teacher who has worked hard to help me finishing my paper.

Honestly, I like research paper more than other essay in composition class ^^

Enlightenment in the Dark of Long Distance Relationship

Long Distance (LD) Relationship always relates to negatives problems that will be a deal breaker of one relationship. The major is that your condition is separated by the time and the place. Have difficulties in communication and then get miscommunications are the side problems that appear after the main cause. It is easy to say “I’ll overcome all the problems because I love her” but when you experience it by yourself; your words change. Although one loves his girls or her boys, you are still human who need love. It is not only about giving love, but also how to be loved.

In the dark of LD relationship, there is enlightenment found if you think positively and you capable to finish all problems. GOD gives us problems to make the relationship tighten although sometimes the way isn’t easy to get through. The complicated relationship must be hurt but it will bring enlightenment, a strong bond. After you overcome the problems, your love will get more and more then you will reach the point that you can’t lose your boy/girlfriend.

It is so beautiful to have strong and tight bond in relationship but the way is difficult. Perfect Love, like I wrote before, is including sacrifice and with LD you are taught how to do that. From this sacrifice you should throw your selfishness because the world is not only about you anymore, but it is about our world. Think about the one whom you miss and love is the best way to help do sacrificing.

Can you imagine controlling the world with remote control? Everything in the world you can do with one thing, like you forgot to do something and you wanted to come back to the past, you can. It’s so awesome!

Michael, played by Adam Sandler, is a workaholic architect; as a result he puts his family in the second priority of his life. Every time his children ask him to play together, he always rejects it because of his project. He do all project perfectly to have a good reputation in front of the boss (David Hasselhoff). The worst, he rushes through love-making session with his wife (Kate Beckinsale). One time while he is looking for a universal remote, he gets a real universal remote control controlling his whole life. With this thing, he can move backward or make faster the time so everything he doesn’t like can be passed quickly. Michael enjoys using this remote but he doesn’t really know the effects. Everyday the time will be automatically faster, like he always fastens the time when he didn’t like the moment, and the result he loses his time either for the children or the project. Because of this, he doesn’t remember many things in his life, loosing his wife, marriage of his daughter and many things. This happens until he died because of heart attack. Fortunately, Michael is dreaming while he is sleeping in the bed at the time he looking for the remote in one mall.

I really like this movie, besides this movie is combination among comedy, drama and fantasy genres, because it has deep meaning of human life. When I saw “Click”, I felt like I was looking my life. I want to fasten the time when facing the problems, having a bad time and anything else that make me unhappy, but fortunately I don’t have the remote control. This movie give some study of life that we should face our problems and overcome it, so from that we shall become a wiser person. Problems’ escaping isn’t a solution; it will make worse the condition like in the movie, the time will go faster automatically. Every time I watched this movie, I am always remembered to respect and struggle my life.

The second, I can study about the priority of my life. Adam Sandler made the example of making the family in the second, and the job in the first. This kind of priority doesn’t exactly wrong, but I think it depend on the personality of the person. Personally, I will make the family as the first priority because without the family I can’t reach success in my works. The wife and children will give you more strength to stand in your problems. It makes sense because when you are in the bad time, your family is the right place to share the problems or do some interesting activity to make the problems easier.

Do your best and respect every hour, every minutes and every second of your life!

Research Experience

On my research paper, I choose manufacturing of spring as a topic. This topic sounds interesting for me because when I took me bachelor degree, I had learned about the spring. Its types, the material that constructs spring but I only knew a little about the production or manufacturing, so I think now is the best time to learn about it. Beside I get more knowledge, I practice for the English of course.

What I have done in my research paper are search for the source. Miss Azimi ask us to have three sources: text book, web and journal. For the first one, I have found the book, Machine Design: Integrated Approach written by Robert L. Norton, from Pollak Library. Secondly I don’t have any difficulties for source from internet web because there are so many mechanical webs that explain and show the process of manufacturing spring. For last, honestly I still don’t have any idea about it, but I am searching for it.

About the librarians, I haven’t asked them for any help yet because the facility to search the book in Pollak Library is good enough. I can find a related book in my topic just for a minute but I think if I need some help from them, they will help me happily. For the last resource I plan to ask them.

Get rewarding in research? Yes, of course. I get a lot of knowledge especially in my field, Mechanical Engineering and I can continue my study about the spring. Another is improving my English skill in reading, writing and structure. I didn’t find any frustrating in researching; conversely I get a lot of fun in it.

There is no end for studying. Have a pleasure on studying and you will enjoy it ^^

This Union may Never be Perfectly but.. It can Always be Perfected

Barack Obama, whose father is from Kenya and mother is from the Unites States, is one candidate from democrat to become a president of the United States. He realize his background that have belongs to black skin community has some problems with white people. Black people are usually attached with crime in the urban and some white people have prejudiced about them. The racial problem in this country between black and white people from the past made the anger in black people. He understands that anger, but he can’t disown to be black person and what he wants to do is to stop the racialism.

I like his way to stop racialism that he over if he becomes the president. He has self esteem that is shown by his statement that say the problems will end in one election cycle. That way is start from our self. We can’t life with old wound, because we have no choice about it. In the past maybe racialism was so strong between black and white communities, but today it has become less than in the past. That is the fact that we must receive, so we can face this world positively.

He also said, “This union may never be perfectly but.. it can always be perfected.” I agree with him, maybe it is because his religion is Christian so he believes that nothing in the world is perfect. All things in the world have defects in many ways, but that’s not the problem. The real problem is how we can receive those defects. The United States is built from many cultures in it, so differences must be there to be accepted. I like the way Obama say that we have the same direction of this country. It’s not about black and white people, but all about our children and our grandchildren in this country. If we can receive the differences and understand the unperfected things, we can less the racialism. With this perspective, the world can be perfected and we can live together peacefully.

Pakistan Causes Worldwide YouTube Outage

The article “Pakistan Causes Worldwide YouTube Outage” is about the ban of accessing YouTube from local internet of Pakistan because of anti-Islamic movie. Pakistan Telecom linked request for YouTube from local internet to a black hole, so all the data would be discarded. This action effected to the international networking of YouTube that was caused by the route to black hole is accepted by PCCW, the international data carrier. The effect was all requesting to YouTube from the world was discarded.

That is a good thing to protect Pakistan residents from harmful movies which will make they betrayed their religion. It can be accepted that Pakistan forbid the inciting movies especially for anti-Islamic and homosexuals, but Pakistan must concern about the effect of their action to others countries. I think Pakistan planned to forbid those movies all over the world, so they ask the PCCW to accept the route to black hole. Each country has its own rule to regulate the nation, so one country can’t regulate another country. For the example, freedom is the priority in the United State so every resident is able to watch any kind of movies.

Outside the above assumption, everyone can take something positive from this problem. The networking between international and local internet must be separated clearly, so the disturbing of one local network to international network won’t happen in the next time. Another positive thing is it is important to keep our walk in our patch although there are so many temptations outside. If we can control ourselves, so there aren’t need a forbidden for the temptations. YouTube isn’t just about the inciting movies, but it has a lot of movies that give knowledge. Considering our action between the positive and the negative effects before we do it is the best way.

Soulmate

Soul mate sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a deep feeling and want to share the whole life. It is difficult to find our real soul mate because I think we only have one in the world. You must learn how to love which means that you should put down your selfish and give your attention to others. You can like someone easily, but it is hard to love someone.

In my religion, Christian, the soul mate is decided when you get married. You won't know the person until you declare that you want to marry the person and give your life to him/her in front of God. Although it is a hardway to find soul mate, you will find a beatiful way when you get the soul mate.
